The Meaning of Christmas

In all the craziness of the Holiday season, you rarely have time to stop and think about the true meaning of Christmas. Is it about giving gifts, fighting the holiday crowds and rushing from place to place --- Or is the true meaning of Christmas to have family together and enjoy the ones you love.

Tony and I have had a lot of time to think about this during our period of "isolation". This year Christmas will be very different for us. We are unable to be with our entire families in order to keep Drew healthy. We are able to have mini celebrations with my parents and Tony's, but we'll be unable to be with our extended family. You take for granted the things that are Christmas to you, until they are taken away for a year. This is the first Christmas in Seanger history we will not all be together. To me Christmas is the smell of my Mom's cooking, the big hug and kiss my Dad gives me when we says "Merry Christmas", the joy of watching the cousins play together, the four of us girls fighting over small things, and the delight of watching each person open that one gift that they have been waiting for all year. Christmas is being with the ones you love, and being thankful that for one day everyone can sit down together and be a family.

What is it that we want Santa to bring for us this year? Jack asked Tony that the other day, and he quickly responded a healthy family. Jack looked at Tony like he was crazy. All the toys in the world and he just wanted healthy kids. I wish Santa could wrap that up and put it under the tree this year, but in some ways he has given us the greatest gift ever. A new appreciation for family and the joy of being able to watch our children grow-up. Drew will get better and next year he will be ripping into gifts and tackling his cousins with the help of his big brother Jack.

Our holiday wish for our family:

Mom and Dad - I wish I could be there with you this year. I wish I could clear Dad's dinner plate as he pushes it up and to the left. I wish I could argue with Mom about who should do the dishes. I wish I could sit down at dinner and thank God I have such loving and wonderful parents. Mom and Dad I love you so much. I never have to worry about NLM (nobody loves me), because I know you two will always love us.

My Sisters - I wish I could be there to fight over dishes and the volume level in the house. Remember "We are Family - I got all my sisters with me". Know that I am with you from afar today. I love each and everyone of you and thank God I have three wonderful sisters.

Seanger Brother-In-Laws - Well what can I say about a bunch of men who would marry four strong willed and high strung women. Thank you for putting up with us and all the craziness the Christmas season brings. Thank you for taking care of my sisters and loving them each and every day. We love all of you.

Seanger nephews and beautiful new niece - Hugs and kisses from Auntie Heidi, Uncle Tony, Cousin Jack and Cousin Drew. We love you lots! I hope Santa was good to you. Make sure to tell your parents if he wasn't, they know Santa personally. I am sure they could arrange for some extra presents to be delivered this week if you didn't get enough.

Tony's Parents - We wish you could have your entire family together tonight. We wish we could sit down for dinner amongst all the kids running wild, and toast to a Merry Christmas and A Happy New Year! We love you both very much. We thank God we are blessed to have you a part of our lives.

Joe and Rochelle - We wish we could be with you to enjoy Christmas Eve. To watch the kids play, laugh, drink and be "merry". Know that we are with you in spirit. We love you two very much. Thank you for being a part of our lives. You mean the world to us.

Josh and Luke - We love you two lots and hope your Christmas was good. I am sure Santa filled the tree with presents, but if he didn't there is a toy store in your neighborhood holding all the gifts he forgot. Just tell your parents to take you there. They can pay with all the play money this have in the toy cash register. Hugs and kisses from all of us.

Our Extended Family and Friends - We wish you a very Merry Christmas. We love each and every one of you. We are thankful each day that you are a part of our lives. Thank you for all your love and support.

Merry Christmas to everyone. Take a minute today to look around you and really enjoy the Christmas spirit. Hug your family and tell them you love them. Life is too short to take them for granted. Enjoy the company of family and friends during the holiday season. They are the true meaning of Christmas.

We had a wonderful time the other night. Watching Jack & Drew open their presents. This year we could enjoy that. Other years we had a hard time finding the presents between the wrapping paper. We had a great meal. We also had time that was just ours and no one elses. My heart is heavy also that we cannot be together, but more important than us is DREW. Because of him our family will be closer and every moment we share together will have a lot more meaning. Thank you Drew for teaching us that. What a beautiful Christmas present you gave all of us. Let's not ever forget how precious each and every one of us is. We have the best Daughters ever. The greatest Grandchildren on earth. We couldn't ask for better Son-in laws.
Heidi, Tony Jack and Drew, even though you are not in our home this Christmas...Yoy are in our hearts and every moment this Christmas Day you will be on our minds. So you will be here.
Merry Christmas,
Love Mom and Dad

Tony, Heidi, Jack, Drew
We wish you guys could be with us this Christmas but most importantly we are happy that you guys get to spend this Christmas together as a fmaily and out of the hospital. Your energy and desire to get through this has made everyone, including yourselves, stronger and has brought us the true meaning of holidays, family, and just being together.
Enjoy your day, cherish the time you get to spend together, and play lots with Jack and Drew.
We love you, if you need to argue we are only a phone call away, and we are always alailable to laugh and share.
