I am sure by now everyone is worrying if we have fallen of the face of the earth - No news is good news for us. The last couple of weeks have been very uneventful. Drew has been doing wonderfully - eating a ton, drinking everything in sight and playing hard with Jack. The only thing he is not doing is sleeping, which is not unusual for a kid of ours.
The most eventful thing in the last two weeks is the new pair of glasses he is sporting. He went to the Pediatric Opthamologist, for his first of many eye exams. His right eye has 20/20 vision in it. The left eye is undetermined at this point. We know he has no 20/20 vision in his left eye. The way vision is assessed is to patch the right eye and show him a series of pictures. Drew is not a willing participant in the right eye being patched. Due to limited vision in the left eye, he gets really scared when you cover up the good eye. He screams and cries until you uncover the right eye. Until he gets older and will allow the patching we will not be able to determine the vision in the left eye. Regardless of the vision, he will wear glasses to protect his good eye. It is very important for him to wear the glasses, however, he could care less. We put them on, he throws them off. We figure we will be the Norm of the eye glass store, frequently visiting to fix glasses. Options are limited for a kid his age, and Tony and I definitely disagree on what is fashionable. Tony wanted a plain pair and the lady informed him, "They don't do boring". We finally found a pair that did not cover his whole face.
Tomorrow is round five of chemo. We are anxiously awaiting the progress report. Only two more rounds and he is done with chemo. This will be cause for celebration. He is a trooper, being so tough through this entire process. Almost done Drew-Bug, hang in there. We love you to the moon and back.
