I bet everyone is wondering why there has been no postings lately. Well, no news was good news, until last week. Drew had an eye exam and MRI on Friday. The MRI looked good. Unfortunately, they found a new tumor in the right eye. It was very small and they were able to treat it with a laser. It is a minor set back, and we knew this could happen. The doctors indicate that this is just a sign that he is immature and still developing. Any new cells that develop in the eye are at risk for retinoblastoma. The hope is they will catch them in time and can treat with laser or freezing. It was a little discouraging to hear this, however, we have to look at this a small bump in the road. They caught it in time, and were able to treat it. That is the important thing. They will recheck again on January 16th. We will update everyone on their findings when we know. He was able to get his port out, which is a big milestone. He was very happy with that. We saved it, so some day we can show him. He points at the spot on his check and says, "No poke!" We can finally tell him there will be no more pokes there:)
Drew is doing great, and has grown so much. He is a typical almost 2 year old, sassing and fighting with his brother. He has a lot of fight in him, which has come in handy. He will get through this and be a tougher kid for it.

Hi Giuliani's-
It's hard to hear about the set back, but good to hear they caught it in time. I still check the blog every couple weeks and think of your family often! Keep fighting Drew! Merry Christmas to all of you and good luck at the next appointment I will thinking of you and praying it goes well!
Love,
Lisa Seanger
