Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving:

Thanksgiving always use to be a fly by holiday with little meaning to me. This year it means a lot. We have so much to be thankful for - our family, friends and our two wonderful boys. We love everyone so much. Mostly we are thankful this holiday that Drew will get better. He is such a wonderful little boy, with a beautiful smile and an amazing giggle that lights up a room. We are thankful for the wonderful doctors who have and will help Drew on his road to recovery. We appreciate their help immensely. We are thankful we live a city and country with such wonderful health care. It makes this process a lot less scary. We are so thankful for all the love and support our family and friends have given us throughout the process. This has given us the strength to get through this.
You truly never realize the importance of family until you go through something like this. We have the most amazing and wonderful parents in the whole world. They have been so strong for us throughout the decision process. My Mom immediately goes into "Mom Mode" cooking, praying, talking to us, supporting us and offering to take time off her work to help care for Drew in the upcoming months. My Dad, the pillar of strength and always a role model to me. He has kept me focused on the positive outlook and assured me the right decision will be made. Tony's Mom has been cooking for us, praying, helping care for the kids and pitching in to care for Drew in the upcoming months. Without her, I don't know how we would have gotten through these last couple of days. Tony's Dad has been amazingly strong and calm over the last week. We needed that strength and calm feeling around us. It helped so much when we just wanted to fall apart. Our sisters, brothers, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws - what an amazing group of people. They have been calling constantly to check on us, praying for us and offering to help where they can. THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving, because it really is one. Hug your family, tell them you love them and enjoy them. Be thankful today and every day you get to be a part of each others lives. Thank God for your friends and all they bring to your life. Laugh with them, it is the best cure for sadness.

Dear Tony, Heidi, Jack and Drew -
We are thinking and praying for you all - not only will you find strength you didn't know you had, Drew will amaze you (even more than he already does) with his resilience and bravery!! Of course we would love to help out in any way we can --- and having Jack over to play on the days Drew needs to lay low at home would be a big hit for our boys. Wishing Drew a strong and speedy recovery...Lisa, Dave, Owen and William
