The Flu
So things have gone from bad to worse at the Giuliani home. Tony left the hospital yesterday with the flu. I relieved him, because I was feeling fine. Drew started eating yesterday and we were optimistic he would come home this week. This morning Drew woke up with the diarrhea and throwing up. If that wasn't bad enough I started throwing up. My Mom is now at the hospital with Drew. She is the only one left who isn't contagious. We are a bit of a mess right now at the Giuliani home. Apparently the only luck we have is bad luck. I am being to feel like I am living a medical soap opera. We could use a few extra prayers right now.

Heidi & Tony,
You are in our thoughts and prayers extra today!! We really hope you all get well soon so you can spend time with your two little boys! Hang in there . . . things have to start going the other way! We will continue to read the blog everyday to hear some happy updates!!!

I never really appreciated when people used to say "God only gives us things we can handle" or "this happened for a reason" because during times like these, it doesn't seem like God is on your side and there is no good reason for a child to suffer. Your positive attitudes and faith that Drew will get better are the driving forces of helping him heal, along with all the prayers being said for your family, of course. You have an incredibly strong family and that strength will get you through the flu setbacks and move you along to healing Drew. We're thinking of you always.

A friend of mine had a quote on her fridge attributed to Mother Theresa. The main idea of it was that she believed that God didn't give her anything she couldn't handle - just that sometimes she wished He didn't think so highly of her. I feel the same way for you.
We are praying for you

Wow you guys .. that's all I can say! Heidi it was great talking to you the other night .. Sorry to hear the flu has taken over your household. Drew is in the perfect place to help him get through his flu too! I hope that even though he is sick that he continues to eat and I was happy to see that he had started to eat. It must be tough to try and rest and get better as I'm sure you are anxious to return to Drew, but sleep and rest as much as you can so you are super strong upon your return... God seems to be making both you rest right now... :) We will continue to pray for your family and thanks again for taking time out of all of this to update us via this blog... Hang in there!!!
:)

Heidi & Tony,
A big hug to all of you.
Please let us know if we can help out with Jack in any way. We can drop him off after daycare if you'd like or he can come over to our house for a while if that'd help you out.

Tony, Heidi, Jack & Drew,
We pray for you guys everyday and everything will turn your way soon. We check several times for updates on Drew. We love ya.
Tony and Heidi,
Just wanted to let you know you're in our thoughts and prayers. I'm sorry to hear of the "bad luck" your having. My family also recently went through the aweful "flu" and it is no fun. Connor ended up in the hospital for dehydration because of it so I know a little bit of what it's like to have such a young child hooked up to tubes and just wanting to be held. It is heartbreaking to see your child in that situation and no one gets much sleep. I don't pretend to know exactly what your going through because I know your dealing with more than just dehydration but I pray for your family to get well soon cuz there "no place like home". I will think happy thoughts for you and your family cuz you guys have the 2 cutest and sweetest little boys and you are incredible parents as well. I admire the strength and courage you both have - it is so clear to see as I read the blog. This, along with the overwhelming love you have for each other and your family, will get you through each day. Hang in there!
